Book of the month Anne Hassett

November 2011

Two Books this Month!

Yes! Two months , as I am away working abroad during November and December

Book One. 'YOU CAN CREATE AN EXCEPTIONAL LIFE'

By Louise Hay and Cheryl Richardson.

Louise Hay , known to millions all over the world, has done it again. This time it is in co-operation with Cheryl Richardson. Many of us, who work in the area of spirituality and healing, cut our teeth on Louise Hay's book, 'You can heal your life'. Since then she has authored countless empowering books, she has created courses, taught through many mediums such as C'D's and DVDs and has even set up her own publishing company HAY HOUSE. Hay House publishes books by many of the leading edge spiritual and metaphysical teachers of today.

YOU CAN CREATE AN EXCEPTIONAL LIFE uses the simple formula that our thoughts create our reality. It tells us that it behoves us to think good thoughs as this will create good results, and if we do good deeds and make choices that make us feel good, we cannot fail but receive good results.

The book discusses taking care of our bodies, aging consciously, manifesting true prosperity in our own world and in the world at large; creating good relationships in our families and with the larger family of mankind and about facing death with dignity and without fear.

Book Two. 'THE PROPHET'

By Kahlil Gibran.

I am always surprised when I come across people who have not read this book. It is a classic. If you are at your wits end wondering what to buy a friend for Christmas, then wonder no longer. This book has something for everyone. It is a book one can dip into or read from cover to cover.

AE (George Russell) said about this book.'I do not think that the East has spoken with so beautiful a voice since the 'Gitanjali' of Rabindranath Tagore as in 'The Prophet' by Kahlil Gibran, who is an artist as well as apoet. I have not seen for years a book more beautiful in its thought, and when reading it I understand better than ever before what Socrates meant in the Banquet when he spoke of the beauty of thought which exercises a deeper enchantment than the beauty of form....I could quote from every page, and from every page I could find some beautiful and liberating thought.'

For myself, as I have read this book many many times, I can now quote the appropriate bits when neccessary. I have heard it quoted at baby naming celebrations; at weddings; at funerals and at rites of passage ceremonies. It is timeless and inspiring.

I can safely say that you will enjoy it. And, if you have read it before, dip in again, there is always something in it to get one thinking.
